"Step Out" - A music video by Raf Saperra
Commissioned to design multi-page editorial spreads for use within the official music video. Focused on strong typographic hierarchy, visual rhythm, and bold color interplay to complement Raf’s cross-cultural hybrid of Punjabi grit and global polish. The goal was to create editorial visuals that felt authentic to Raf’s identity; bold, raw, and rooted in both British Punjabi culture and global contemporary music. The spreads needed to hold their own as standalone visuals while also blending seamlessly into the film's art direction.

This project sat at the intersection of editorial design and visual storytelling. The kind of work that pushes you to think about rhythm, clarity, and context all at once. Seeing the layouts come to life mid-video, woven into Raf’s sound and narrative, was the kind of payoff that makes it all worth it.

Everything was crafted with movement in mind: typography that hits fast but reads clean, imagery that holds tension, and textures that nod to DIY aesthetics without overwhelming the frame.

We treated each spread like a living, breathing page; something textured, confident, and fast. Type was set intentionally loud, but never chaotic. Colors pulled from Raf’s palette: warm, dusty, archival. There’s something special about designing for a frame that won’t sit still, and that challenge shaped every decision I made.
